Christchurch Football Club Announces New Junior Club Captain
Christchurch Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Brocket as the new Junior Captain. Tim has been an integral part of the club, starting as a junior player before high school and later playing for the Colts, where he formed some of his closest friendships.
In 2016, a friend helped Tim return to the club as a coach, a role he has enjoyed for the past eight years. During this time, his children, Hudson and Isla, also played rugby at the club, with Isla transitioning to netball last year. His increasing involvement with the junior side led to a full committee role, where he has worked with a dedicated team to ensure junior members enjoy their time at the club.
Taking on the role of Junior Captain comes with mixed emotions for Tim, as it follows a period of working closely with Hunter, whose leadership he describes "has been truly inspiring". Hunter leaves behind big shoes to fill, but Tim and the junior committee are committed to continuing his legacy.
"It’s been incredibly rewarding to work alongside such a dedicated group of people, all focused on ensuring our junior members enjoy every moment of their time at CFC. I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working with the junior committee to build on the fantastic work Hunter has done," said Tim Brocket. "Our focus will remain on ensuring our junior members have a positive and enjoyable experience at Christchurch Football Club."
