Craig Calder steps down as Club Chair

Craig Calder our Club Chairman, has decided to step down from the board and his role as Chairman effective March 31st. Craig will continue in his Business Manager position until his contract expires on April 20th.

In his heartfelt statement, Craig shared,

"This decision has not been made lightly. After extensive discussions with my wife and careful consideration of my personal and professional life, I have decided that it is time for me to step down and enjoy retirement. I have given everything I can to CFC. It has been an honour to serve this club again and contribute to its success."

Craig has been an integral part of our club for many years, contributing as a player, committee member, coach, club captain, board member, our CRFU Metro board member and twice as club chairman. After retiring as CEO of South Canterbury RFU, he responded to our call for assistance in 2023. During his current tenure as Chairman, he has successfully navigated us through a challenging fraud case, conducted a comprehensive review of Club Operations, spearheaded our strategic and operational initiatives, and improved our business operations. His leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact on our club.

The board will soon begin the process of finding a suitable successors for both positions to ensure smooth transitions and continued progress for our club.
